@LukeTheDuke Living well doesn't mean an infinity pool and a huge screen tv. It means filling up your life so completely with wonderful people and things you care about that if they ever come to you to apologize some day you will look at them blankly and say, For what?

There are many types of hurt - betrayal, infidelity, unfair boss, aggressive people, bullies, unreasonable neighbours, criminal injury, slander etc. What you seem to be saying is that no situation warrants a person in trying to get even with someone who has wronged them.

@LukeTheDuke Nope, that's not a good answer. Physical hurt is one thing, other wounds are different and how you fight them is different.

@Mamapolo2016 oh it is a good answer. You asked me to be specific about hurt and I gave you various examples. However if you want to dodge the conclusion that there are situations that it is justified to get even then so be it.

@LukeTheDuke That's not what I'm saying at all. But without knowing more about your situation specifically, it's impossible to give an answer.

@LyricalOne it's a hypothetical question. You can imagine your own scenarios. You know from your own life experience that difficult or nasty people can enter your life and hurt you. The question is simply getting at whether you ever felt it right to get even. It really is a simple question.

@LukeTheDuke Obviously not so simple, since this is quite a long thread. But it might have been somewhat simpler if you'd said it was a hypothetical question from jump. And your comments like "that's all supposing they give a damn" led us to believe, quite reasonably, otherwise.

@LyricalOne you appear to be the only person who feels this is a difficult question. there are many succinct replies that suggest that others got the gist.
