Does it frustrate you when people cannot pronounce your name?

If you have a name that is uncommon.
I find it so frustrating, having to repeat my name to people. I say it once and they say "huh" or "what", then repeat it wrong. It sounds exactly the way it is spelled.

no. It does not frustrate me at all. It's not like it's a word they are supposed to know. Not all names are common in every country. Just be patient. It's not like they are trying to insult you.

Also, one more thing: i does not sound like i for every language. sometimes it's ee. J does not sound like J for everyone: sometimes it sounds like 'y', sometimes like the french 'j', etc. H is heard in English, but not in every language. So many examples and reasons (including this one: not everyone is comfortable looking at someone's chest for a long time in order to read a small badge with name on it.) Not every one is English speaker as a first language. I'm not, and maybe you are not either. Anyway, as long as someone is not trying to make fun of me, or calling me a name, if they are trying to say my name or even call me Ms., I'm fine with that. Between choosing that or someone with 0 etiquette, I will choose dealing with someone who can't pronounce my name properly, any given day!
