@ThinkQuick101 not just men. Women in friendships too... believe me I reconnected with s friend from uni and I thought we were on to something good. But I realise that she wanted me around because I was successful in my career and could be generous at times like paying for part of her meal if she was short of cash. Now I'm reigning it in for my next endeavour all friendship benefits have gone. She stopped inviting me out, stopped calling, infact she'd make plans to cancel last minute. But I realise that was her asserting her power over me as I had lost a few other friendships and she felt she was the only one left. Which was true to an extent but I wasn't so fussed as I made a choice to do less and spend time with fewer people.
