Sometimes it feels like people want to see you fail so that they'd know they're right?

I feel this way regarding some of my friends and ex (kinda) ever since I left Christianity.

They say things like "I just hope you're happy now, like real happy, not pretending to be happy" and then go talk about how foolish my decision is with other people.

I can't help wondering why they have to say that since aren't even happy themselves. At least they don't look happy.

Also, I've come to like having a glass of rosé from time to time during meal time. Before I didn't drink at all . I commented it with some of them when we met during Christmas, and now it's like the whole city needs to know about it. My ex who wasn't there was commenting about it with another friend of mine.

It's annoying

Pay no attention. Your life is your own. The decisions you make are yours. People gossip so that they can make themselves feel good. A glass of rose with your meal is hardly indulgent, and would not have been at odds with Christianity, whose founder was called a glutton and a drunkard. You are a good guy. That is all that matters.
