Worst life impact you experienced due to an abusive connection?
I was once fired from work at a coffee shop after I had to call in on Christmas Eve and the owner had to work my shift. An overnight shift, at that.
My ex-boyfriend was angry that I worked all night and thought I used the excuse of sleeping all day to "play-off sleeping with other people and ignoring his texts". I literally would sleep all day and dropped out of College to keep the job (another of his abuse triggers).
He threw me off of the bed and slammed me down on the floor, and my kneecap shattered.
I had to call in and go to ER, but was too embarrassed and distracted to make up an excuse so just said I was ill. Fired by text that night LOL
Got it good for being jobless, too.
Thank God I was done with him four years ago.
It's not the most life-altering abuse experience, but just one I still think about sometimes when I visit that coffee shop chain.
