hi Mistypetal
Komodo Dragon is not harmless!

Komodo is a monitor type carnivore. They enjoy the hunt and often set up an ambush site for incoming prey. They often go for the throat of the animal and should they only wound their target, they can track the wounded prey from nearly 6 miles away (5.9 miles). Full grown Komodo dragons have been known to take down animals many times their size. Deer, water buffalo and other large game are a few of the larger animals they often fall victim to the hungry Komodo monitor.
Saliva
The saliva found in the mouth of a wild komodo dragon often carries septic pathogens, and usually the bacteria known as E. coli. A study at the university of Texas revealed that the rapid growth of these bacteria’s were much faster than usual. Its unknown as to how the monitor is not affected by this. As you can imagine, the prey of a Komodo dragon not only deals with their incredible force, but should they escape with only a few bites, now they are likely infected with a number of septic wounds which can ultimately kill the animal while the monitor continues tracking them over miles of terrain.

Best wishes
:)

@sogdianrock haha you gave me a fright with that picture!
I know lizards are harmless but I have an irrational fear with them. I haven't had any bad experiences with them, it's just something which freaks me out.
