If Another Guy Smiles and Winks at You What Does it Mean?

The other day I was in a grocery store that was out of town, this guy who looked to be about my age in his 50's was shopping. He picked up a bag and walked toward me grinning and as he got closer he winked at me! I was in hurry to get what I needed and head off to a meeting but wondered what was he doing ??

Guys don't make gestures like girls do like this now if a girl did it it means she likes u but from a 30 second or less pass by in a store it makes no sense at all
