jshm2 My story? Could you be more specific? Do you mean who am as in what's my story in a literal sense or do you mean why I posted this thread as in what am I up to?
My story is I was born in an irreligious household, by an atheist father and irreligious mother. I was agnostic leaning towards antitheism until I was in my late 20s and picked up a Bible to study it. That was almost three decades ago. I believe in the Bible but detest organized religion because when it gains popularity it's becomes a corrupted business and a useful tool to the state. All religion. Whether or not it includes deities.
I made this thread because in other threads I've made the proselytizing of science minded fundamentalist militant atheistic zealots who want to discuss evolution. Like a doll with a string on it you pull and it repeats a recording. As if by rote. They love to do that and that's great, but I want to take another look at it. See what's underneath the propaganda and doctrine.
I presented this thread in a jocular way knowing that the most important thing to a militant atheist is to look intelligent. Christians have their false sense of moral superiority and militant atheists have their false sense of intellectual superiority. I wanted to see if they were able to clear that hurdle and talk about what they really seem passionate about or if they just wanted to indoctrinate people they perceive as beneath them like some missionary Christians would do with the unwashed heathens.
