My wife and I are currently out in our motorhome. 🙂

Sevendays · M
@Musicman are the leaks repaired?
TexChik · F
@Musicman Any place fun? Palo Duro Canyon is calling your name. 😉
Musicman · 61-69, M
@TexChik I wish! We did a couple of days in Orlando then a few days in the Villages in Wildwood Florida. We just got home this afternoon.
TexChik · F
@Musicman We are at Pompano Beach, in a beach house. Had an aviation recertification to do and some updates on our plane done, plus more training. We go home Wednesday, and to the farm Thursday.
Sevendays · M
@Musicman but not repaired?
Musicman · 61-69, M
@Sevendays Lol!!! For everything we had planned the answer is yes! Fully repaired, but.....on the way home when we were about 35 miles out our generator quit working. Now tomorrow I need to call Cummins and make an appointment to have it looked at. ☹ The story of RVing. You just can't make this stuff up. Lol!!! 😂
Sevendays · M
@Musicman oh no.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@Sevendays I agree. How soon do you think they can get me in? Being a holiday week will they be slow or booked? Four years ago they pulled the generator out of the RV, rebuilt it, bench tested it and reinstalled it. For the life of me I can't understand what happened to it.
TexChik · F
@Musicman Those things are just like boats! And tractors, everything breaks on a tractor.
TexChik · F
@Musicman its always something simple but expensive
Sevendays · M
@Musicman hopefully something easy like fuel filter or something
Musicman · 61-69, M
@TexChik Truer words have never been spoken. Lol!!! Hopefully they can get us in and out quickly. I have another trip planned. With the average daily temperature being 97 degrees with high humidity we need that generator to run the three rooftop air conditioners. 😊
TexChik · F
@Musicman Absolutely . Hopefully its just a fuse.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@Sevendays As you know our RV is diesel. The generator and motor share the same fuel tank. There is a built-in safety where when the fuel tank gets down to a quarter of a tank the generator automatically shuts off. My fuel gauge was a needles width under a quarter of a tank so I just assumed the safety had been triggered. So we stopped and fueled up. I tried restarting the generator, but no go. Maybe it got some air in the line? 🤷‍♂
Sevendays · M
@Musicman hopefully
Musicman · 61-69, M
@Sevendays A quick fix. Bleed the line and we are done. 🙂
Sevendays · M
@Musicman 👍🏻
TexChik · F
@Musicman Probably, or the fuel switch is stuck. Unhook the battery and then reconnect. See if it reboots.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@TexChik good idea. Thank you 😊
@Musicman
Do you have an Onan generator in your RV?
Sevendays · M
@swirlie yep
Musicman · 61-69, M
@swirlie Yes we do.
@Sevendays
Yep what?
Sevendays · M
@swirlie I have an Onan too
@Musicman
I do forensic technical research in the nautical marine industry where I write a technical column for a private yachting magazine. I found out a few things from my own research just since you made your post about a dead generator 10 minutes ago...

Do you want any of that info?
