Is anyone else here on constant standby because no one at work has faith in the person on call?

In this case I am. It effects my weekends. It effects my vacations. It pretty much rules my life. I can't even develop an appreciation for alcohol. God I want to have one. I have to be able to think clearly and fix things over the phone 24/7.

I was Maintenance Supervisor for residential properties. My last property I was On Call for 3 years, 24/7. It was a one person property, 140 units. When they started sharing the On Call with other properties, I had problems with quality work on my property.
