Location weddings aren’t my favorite. Hear me out …
I am attending one next month.
Pretty expensive as the bride (our friends’ daughter) grew up on one coast of the USA and chose to have the wedding on the opposite coast, far away from where the groom works/lives on that coast. His family is from the opposite coast. Those two have secure, high paying careers. Both families are middle class.
I can afford it. But it just seems to be inconsiderate of others. Maybe they’re taking care of some of their guests’ costs. The bride’s mother wasn’t that happy about it, but is holding her entire opinion to herself. The bride’s father doesn’t care, he just seems to want to over.
Maybe it’s a small wedding and means I should be honored to be invited. The mother kept asking us if we were okay with going out there.
My friend of many years is happy to go.
I’m keeping my opinion to myself, except in here.
I won’t whine about it out here now. I will make the last necessary reservation (car, as the wedding is out in the boonies, I was thinking cabs/Uber) in a few minutes.
