Since you asked ... πŸ‘°β€β™€πŸ‘°β€β™€

Okay, so as most of you know, I got married a few weeks ago. It was a destination wedding with a very small group (just very close family and a small wedding party). We chose the Caribbean for a lot of reasons, but just know that sun, sand, water, beaches, pools, palm trees, and fruity umbrella-laden drinks were all factors! 🀣

We got to the resort about a week prior to the actual ceremony and our "group" arrived in the days following. My (now) wife and I covered four nights for everyone so a few stayed just the four nights but most extended, because it's January and we are northerners and why not??

The ceremony itself was on the beach with the setting sun behind us. We had two officiants who just also happened to be our dads. 😁 And they did an amazing job. They both told stories about us and the path that brought us to that point on that beach that evening. I absolutely was crying by the time my dad was done.

Now our resident SW angel, my favorite Cali girl who now lives up north, @TryingtoLava asked me about our dresses. So, I will say that we had dresses bought and tailored all done when we discovered a month before the wedding that we didn't need to use the on-property wedding chapel / gazebo and could actually exchange vows on the beach ... well, long flowing gowns with trains were simply no longer appropriate so last minute tailoring was needed. The pics below are the dresses we bought, but both were shortened to ankle length.

And I know I should keep this quiet and not share it here where @FeetAreFantastic can see it, but he's pretty cool so ... I was actually barefoot in the sand when I said my vows. ☺🦢

My Dress:
I love a clean look like this and the pockets were a must for me.

Sleeping Beauty's Dress:
Lol, my two nicknames for my wife are "The Accountant" and "Sleeping Beauty". One because, well, she's an accountant and the other because I'm an early riser and she not so much! 🀣

I have many more stories to share from our two weeks in the Caribbean and a few from the reception that was held back up here in New England last weekend, but will post all that in separate stories.

😊
