What a fabulous day
Two friends got married yesterday.
Lovely to see two people so in love get hitched. They both have previous marriages, kids, grandkids for one of them and a lot of life and life's problems behind them.
It was outside in the sunshine at a barn venue.
Then inside for some food.
The speeches - hugely funny from the grooms son and best man.
Then into the dancing room. Clearly a band was booked. But as the woman who was the mc from the venue spoke about the first dance there was no musicians on stage. I expected just a tune to be played but she said "can anyone play this stuff?"
Groom's son walks up the drum set. Then another guest picks up the bass. Your friend and mine @OldBrit was next to walk up as the rhythm built picking up his guitar and joining in.
Then the groom suddenly has a microphone in his hand and singing Run to You as they do the first dance.
After that he starts playing keyboards and they run through a great set of songs. Ending up with The Fleetwood Mac song The Chain - both bride and groom are big F1 fans.🤣🤣🤣
Nobody but the couple and the other musicians knew. They'd all set up before anyone else arrived. Apparently they only rehearsed together once! The groom had never sung on stage before - you'd never have known!
Disco took over after but it was just such a brilliant thing. I'm so jealous of such talented people.
