Wedding Invitation Request

This is a follow up to another post I had about my niece's wedding being in the traditional Catholic latin rite.
On the website with the invitation it said
"Please dress modestly out of respect and reverence"
Do you find that condescending?
I don't that anyone in my family would dress inappropriately.

I don’t see how it’s more condescending than asking guests to wear black and white, or red shoes for the wedding dance production.

It’s their wedding and I don’t think it’s offensive. It’s probably pointless, what with folks wearing what they wear.

And, of course, if one chooses to attend a cousin’s wedding dressed like CardiB, they can always just throw them out.
