Wedding Invitation Request

This is a follow up to another post I had about my niece's wedding being in the traditional Catholic latin rite.
On the website with the invitation it said
"Please dress modestly out of respect and reverence"
Do you find that condescending?
I don't that anyone in my family would dress inappropriately.

The wedding is about the bride and groom, it's their day. Why do attention seeking people need to show up in outfits they know will get lots of stares. An elegant nice outfit looks much nicer than some tiny dress with their tits hanging out.
