Wedding Invitation Request

This is a follow up to another post I had about my niece's wedding being in the traditional Catholic latin rite.
On the website with the invitation it said
"Please dress modestly out of respect and reverence"
Do you find that condescending?
I don't that anyone in my family would dress inappropriately.

A black Muslim student (from Africa ) at one of my former school died and they told the black moms of American black students that the funeral was a somber event, with no wailing or putting on shows. They were offended . I don’t think you should be .

@JimboSaturn they were up in arms about it . There was a lot of tension in that school between African kids and American black kids .

@AthrillatheHunt I find over the top displays inappropriate, but I would feel weird telling people how to behave.

@JimboSaturn it was a peace offering to offer the invitation to the funeral to the neighbors but they wanted it to be African style , and felt they needed to tell the locals how to act based on previous behaviors .
