Would you feel odd if you got a wedding invite from an old friend whom you haven't seen in over 10 years?

And really haven't talked to other than an occasional Facebook message, within that time frame?
WaryWitchWandering · 36-40, F
I probably wouldn’t go

I would maybe send a lil something
WaryWitchWandering · 36-40, F
@cherokeepatti exactomundo!
rosyhills · 31-35, F
@cherokeepatti fishing for what? a gift? I saw she posted about getting married. All I posted was ''congratulations!". And I got an invite?
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@rosyhills yes exactly that especially if she’s not paying for the reception expenses. and just like Facebook a lot of friends added to the list, even those you rarely see.
FaeLuna · 31-35, F
Some friendships I have are so old but we rarely talk, and yet whenever we do, its like no time has passed. For them, I'd go withiut a doubt. For anyone else, it could really depend on how much I liked them, and how far the wedding is from me.
rosyhills · 31-35, F
@FaeLuna but that makes since though. Ya'll are friends, and 10 years hasn't gone by.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
Very
Sounds more like a marketing campaign or money grab than friendship.
Wol62 · 51-55, M
@AthrillatheHunt With friends like that huh?
id feel special because they want me to buy them something
SW-User
Yes and I wouldn't go.
Wol62 · 51-55, M
That is very odd...hmmmm, well do you want to go to the wedding?
rosyhills · 31-35, F
@Wol62 no I do not. The friendship faded away. She wasn't very consistent with me either, when I think back on the "friendship".
Wol62 · 51-55, M
@rosyhills Well fuck her and her fiancé.
SW-User
Yeah, odd.
If we were really close 10 years ago, I might go.
rosyhills · 31-35, F
@SW-User and we really weren't
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
Yes I would…
rosyhills · 31-35, F
@cherokeepatti how come? even if you weren't close friends with them and pretty much the friendship faded away? She wasn't very consistent with me either, when I think back on the "friendship".
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@rosyhills I would feel odd about it and wouldn’t go.
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
I'd be delighted.

@Stereoguy so you wouldn't feel like 🤔💡🤷‍♀️🙄 after receiving a wedding invite from someone you haven't seen in 10 years?
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@rosyhills feel like they are wanting to get a lot of gifts and someone else is probably paying for the reception expenses.
