Have you ever gone to a wedding alone?

Tomorrow, I'm going alone to an old colleagues wedding, a small quaint one, she invited all the preschool teacher gang, I accepted and took a day off for it, it so happens my boss can't go, due to family reasons and no one else even replied to the invite! Bad form of them. So I will enjoy this small wedding with my head held high, and be there for the wonderful bride!

Yes and it didnt go well at the reception. I have social anxiety very badly. So at the reception the uncle of my friend that was getting married spotted me. I was so grateful he offered me a chair at his table. He gave me so much attention which helped my social anxiety, but then his wife sitting next to him looked positively hurt and miserable. I felt so bad and still to this day feel bad about it.
@morrgin You shouldn't feel bad for the wife not understanding her husband's care in looking out for you.

It was a real, heartfelt, gracious gesture; her inability to see this is on her own head, not yours.

Wish her...discernment.

Stop beating yourself up over something very caring and lovely.
