I really don't like people wording things like a command

My niece is telling people how to celebrate Valentine's Day which is to stop buying cut flowers and greeting cards.
I will buy cut flowers and greeting cards, because I wish to.
I don't really believe I owe the world any explanation.
But, I dry flowers to keep them longer and usually don't throw out cards people give me,often recycle them for craft projects.
I'm a sentimental kind of person I like holidays and traditional celebrations of them.
I'm okay that other people don't.
Just don't word your protest like a schoolmarm reprimanding the children.
