I'm not here to start a war but...

Does anyone else feel that Valentine's Day is just a day for retail to profit off Hallmark sales...

Love given between couples on Valentine's should be given EVERYDAY OF THEIR LIVES, not just for one day.

It's probably because I'm single but I believe that Love shouldn't just be reserved for one day, couples should shower each other with love every day, not going out to restaurants or having chocolates every day...

Just be in each others arms and tell each other you love them endlessly.

Apologies if I anger anyone with this sentiment, that's not my intention, just my opinion... If you like Valentine's Day, go for it. Happy Valentine's. 🌹🌹🌹
A friend just sent me this and I think that's a much better idea. 🥰

gasp how dare you assume that? I'm just so angry I don't even know what to do 😤...

I bought flowers today. No Hallmark though. I think it's a wonderful idea to do something special for a loved one today. Why not? I don't anyone who shares their love only on 2/14. But in my opinion, calling out today to do something unique is a good idea, no great idea.

I was married for almost 45 years. Not a day went by when she didn't know I loved her. She got flowers every week. But Valentine's day was always something just a little special.

Most holidays have lost their meaning and are commercialized to the extreme

I worked at Walmart one Valentines Day and so much merchandise was purchased. I thought they brought in too many fresh flowers, but nope, they sold out. It is another commercialized day. Every holiday seems over-the-top anymore. Nothing spontaneous about this.

@MsSwan grumpy puss need lovin too
I agree. And for singles it's just extra difficult to see all that effort condensed in one day too.
I have been saying this for 40 years.

It's a nice boost for shops, restaurants, pubs, hotels, florists etc which is much-needed these days.
It's not reserved for one day. It's just for fun.

@Emosaur Some day capitalism will be outlawed, and hopefully society will return to normal. Gene Roddenberry had a great and honorable vision as seen in Star Trek.
