It’s awesome that you’re being so supportive and helping her helping herself succeed at a goal she’s passionate about. I wish my parents had been that way. Who knows how life would’ve turned out if there weren’t so many missed opportunities and I didn’t have to fend for myself.

And that’s as it should be. Her dad seems to be disconnected. Is he like that in other aspects of his life or is it just with his immediate family?
