@dommagic I don’t think the federal government should stick their noses into local police procedures. It should be up to the mayor or whoever to choose a police chief that will do good or be fired.

@SimplyTracie It is more likely that the police in a city can have the mayor replaced than the mayor having the police chief fired. The police and fire departments with their friends and families are a powerful political force in most cities. The mayor is more of a symbolic figure and typically caters to the police because the mayor recognizes their power.
