I got some chickens a while back. About 20 of them.
Brahma they were.
The plan was to raise them, for eggs and meat.
But then I got to know them and their personalities and I couldn't kill them. I did eat a crap load of eggs tho.

When my sisters and I were kids growing up on our farm, our Dad forbid us to go near the turkeys he would raise for Thanksgiving because we'd end up naming them and then they'd become pets... and then all bets were off.

@swirlie exactly!!!
For a short while I entertained the idea of getting a baby cow to raise it and for at least a year of meat.
But after the chickens experience I knew that would not work either.

I learned early in life to maintain an arms-length relationship with all farm animals and all guys who looked way too pretty!
