No, Thanksgiving is not about celebrating the genocide of Native Americans... [I Love Thanksgiving]

I always see this get thrown around this time of the year and it's ridiculous. Thanksgiving was originally conceived as a holiday of religious observance and then later became a civil tradition. Look it up! Yes, the idea that the "First Thanksgiving" had colonists and natives celebrating a harmonious feast together is a myth, but the point of it was never to celebrate genocide or stealing land or anything related to the suffering of Native Americans. I'm Native American myself and I roll my eyes whenever I see people saying that nonsense. Shut up and eat your damn turkey!

I plan on doing just that. All 24 lbs of turkey between my husband and I. Plenty of leftovers too. It'll be interesting having it be just the two of us this year. I'm thankful for the fact that we both have a job and that we have each other and that the spooky RONA hasn't gotten us.
