How are you spending your Sunday?

I'm sitting in the garden, it's sunny right now with a few clouds in the sky, but not enough (at the moment) to threaten rain. My husband is tending to our plants as we both enjoy the aroma of a roast chicken wafting from the oven.

I have always cooked a roast on Sunday as long as I can remember. It's a weekend treat to us. Roast chicken, roast potatoes, sage and onion stuffing, carrots and green beans with lashings of gravy.
Niiice.

Beautiful - just a bit more browning needed. The veg in the pan help make a delicious gravy.

I did a roast chicken dinner a few weeks ago when an old friend came for Sunday lunch. It's good to keep up traditions - living alone I seldom do the full hit just for myself, however.

@ArtieKat If I was on my own I would still do a roast on Sunday. A small chicken would make a good couple of dinners or even three. You can also freeze the cooked chicken for a later date.

@Teileach I have a freezer full of chicken breasts from Cash & Carry - but I still bought a whole one for when my friend came.

@ArtieKat Do you have stuffing with chicken? I usually use Paxo, sometimes I add extra stage from the garden.

@Teileach Sometimes - I'm not a huuuge fan but I don't dislike it either. Have you got an Air Fryer, Patricia? Since I got mine last year I swear by it

@ArtieKat No, I haven't got one. I'll have to look into that, would be handy.

@Teileach If you have a Costco near you, theirs are very good value - less than £45 for a very adequate model
