Saturday night card game

4 friends get together for a game of cards. 2 are Democrats and 2 are Republicans.

The cards are dealt out and counted and the game is played.

Who is likely to be the first person to blame the others of cheating when they don’t win;

Republican

Democrat.

There is a history on both sides - don't forget the dems saying Trump won because Russia interefered in the election in 2016 and that it was fraudulent.

I wonder if what we saw in 2020 was revealed because of much more use of cameras etc - perhaps those dodgy practices have been going on for years but no one was able to capture it on camera before?

@CheekyBadger Trump was the only one who said he won because he couldn’t accept losing. Republicans just jumped on the band wagon.

As to the card game.. who would accuse the others first?
@justanothername the problem as i see it is that the leftist viewpoint doesn't respect the concept of democracy but has to tolerate it as a constraint wheraa the right (in general) believes in right of people to choose. This puts the right at an immediate disadvantage. Over here i cant think of a single election rigging court case that wasnt perpetrated by the left.

Card games are different so I wouldn't confuse the two situations

@CheekyBadger the question was about card games, so, as expected I’m still waiting for an answer from the right….

As to peoples “rights”.. yes we’ll have them. What some elements of the right are having an issue with is the act of being held accountable for the expression of some of those rights when they cross over the line. As I see it they want the right to do or say what ever they want with no repercussions.
@justanothername It appeared to me that this is a political question. I would never claim that someone who voted Republican or Democrat was more or less likely to cheat at cards. Would be an interesting area of research though. I could only find an article that researches found that republicans were more likely to be members of a website set up to arrange extra marital affairs which isn't really the same thing.

@CheekyBadger The question doesn’t require research. It’s a question based on your opinion. Who do YOU think would accuse the others of cheating first?
@justanothername I'm one of those people that prefers to form opinions based on sound principles so I don't have an opinion on it - anything I said would be a pure guess. If forced to come to a decision I would reason that the "snowflake" generation would be more likely to complain so I would say the leftists.

@CheekyBadger So you would say the left would accuse the right of cheating.

You could be pretty accurate.
@justanothername a bit more nuanced than that - my reasoning is that many people who profess to be on the left are younger and are more likely to have been raised in an environment that one could say excessively coddles them making them more likely to feel entitled to win. This isn't really because of their politics but their upbringing though

@CheekyBadger So you are referring to either of the Republican players when you are talking about feeling entitled to win? Because for Democrats, you accept the outcome of the round win or lose.
@justanothername the other way round

@CheekyBadger That wouldn’t be my take on it but it’s an interesting perspective.
