Would it bother you if your mum buys the same clothes as you?

So I bought some Dr martens and she went and bought some.
I was going to buy some filas, so because she needed new trainers I said she could buy them instead.
I bought some new balance trainers and she said she liked them. I went with her to buy some of the modern styled ones (that are different to mine) and she couldn't make up her mind. In the end she didn't buy them.

I bought some addidas trainers and she tried them too and said they weren't comfy.
But last Saturday she went out and bought the same ones in the green.

I'm pissed not because we have the same things but because she gets annoyed that her sister someone she sees maybe 2 x a year copies her clothes.
She makes such a fuss that she goes out her way not to wear anything new if she sees her so she can't copy it.

We had a little argument about it. Because she couldn't see the issue.
And now she's being petty by saying she's going to sell them on vinted even though I told her I didn't like that she had bought them last Weekend before she walked them out on the high street.

As I was going to buy them in the green also!

Am I being petty?

I don't know. She's old and your mom. I'd cut her some slack.

@Spoiledbrat if she didn't make such a fuss about other people copying her clothes it wouldnt bother me.
But the fact that she would go out her way to hide what she wears from her sister pisses me off.
Why would I want to be meeting up with her and we look like carbon copies of each other. It's fucking weird!

We're not in a club!
I would just tell her that. But I wouldn't worry about her issue with her sister. @Mellowgirl

@Spoiledbrat I have told her and she says she will put the jacket like mine and the trainers on vinted!

She stopped me buying the new balance because she wanted them, then didn't buy them because she was unsure.
Now I've bought these addidas ones she's bought the same ones in the colour I said I also wanted to get...

It will always bother me because she's morphing into me and I don't like it!

I specifically let her have the choice to have something else so we're not the same yet she picks what I have. It's pissing me off!
I don't blame you for not wanting her to dress like you though. Have you talked to her about it? She must like your style. Maybe she doesn't know what looks good. Once a neighbor of mine went out and bought the same suv we had bought, same color and everything.😐👀 @Mellowgirl

@Spoiledbrat the problem is I'm not a malicious person...
Im always helping my mum to pick her clothes and dresses when she's going somewhere special... Because I want her to look good.
But the problem is that she fights me so much that it's boring and virtually impossible to deal with her.
She criticises everything and it's awful then she'll try it on and "actually it looks nice". Do you know how draining/frustrating that is to deal with?

As I mentioned I wanted different trainers. These ones [.jpg]
But because she said she wanted them I didn't get them so she could.

But instead she's bought the addidas ones I've got in the black, in green.
Even though she said she didn't like them and they weren't comfy.
Despite me saying I wanted to buy them.

I even waited for them to go in the sale again which I also said because I could justify buying two trainers at full price. But she bought them!

Was it out of spite!
Like wtf!
I understand. @Mellowgirl

@Spoiledbrat maybe because I've had a drink Im finding it hard to contain. But it's constant. If I ask her to come for dinner for 6 pm she rocks up half 7 and no phone call.
Its and endless cycle of disrespect.

That's why it bothers me so much!
