@ladyfreyawilliams: I really doubt they'll give up (and if they do, they're doing an absolutely shit job, frankly).

@ladyfreyawilliams: Uh, from what I saw in high school, yeah, they can and often will, piling on extra punishments each time. Better to get it out of the way.

Also ... one of the hardest things about the whole being-an-adult thing is exactly this, facing up to unpleasant necessities that will get worse if not addressed (this is somehting I still struggle with on occasion, I admit) - whether it's paying fines for infringements of the law, paying bills or phoning to try and delay/defer them, talking to a doctor about alarming medical signals, or whatever. Might as well get some practice in doing it, it's really a .... ghastly but necessary skill.

@firefall: Don't worry they'll stop. I'm good at making sure I do what I want :)
