Monday morning fog...

I had to drop my car off to get some work done on it, and in my early morning funk, I handed over my car keys with the house keys attached.

I then called Uber, waited for them to arrive, got in and the driver headed for my house.

We chatted, and it wasn't until we pulled up in front of my house that I remembered what I'd done.

I'm blaming it on being Monday and I'm sticking with that story.

@Blondily I did, and I, the Uber driver, and the shop owner all got a good laugh at my stupidity.

The owner did make me feel a little better - she said it happens at least once a week to one client or another.

@Blondily Yep, sure did and it ended up being triple the original rate. Fortunately, it was only $11 to begin with.

@Blondily Yeah, Memphis is a low-cost area... one of the lowest in the nation. Added to that it's only a 3-mile trip.

And now I'm jealous. I love the PNW! It's been many years since I've been up there, but I love Seattle.

I like your prices! Never been that far east.
You should come visit again. The Seattle waterfront has changed drastically. But its still very green here with mild weather year round.

@Blondily Ten years ago I took the ferry to Bainbridge to meet with someone, I came back on a different ferry, and ate at Ivar's on the docks, fish and chips and clam chowder 😊🤤😋❤️

@Blondily I discovered Ivar's in Portland, they have an underground mall food court location DownTown, or they did back in the 90's. I wouldn't be surprised after the riots. When I took Greyhound to California there was an Awesome Greek place that had the most Awesome gyros by where the old Depot had been on Stewart, but they relocated the depot somewhere along I-90 just off the ramp going east last time I was passing through in early October 2014.

@Blondily I've more than visited the area, I've lived in Tacoma, the Sea-Tac area, and in Chehalis.

When I was planning my retirement, I was seriously considering moving back up there... but plans don't always work out.
