Is it me or Halloween season, just doesn't feel the same vibe as before?

Well, candy is so expensive, and so are costumes. I get why it's different now. Now that I think of it I think it's a little weird to let your children knock at a stranger's door for candy. I prefer trunk or treat events, where you can watch your child closely.

Back in our day we knew all our neighbors whose doors we knocked on around the neighborhood for halloween.

@NativePortlander1970 same. It's not the same anymore unless you're living a real nice neighborhood.
@disturbedchicken Back then everyone knew everybody else, regardless of the neighborhood.

@NativePortlander1970 Yes, but you're back then is very different from my back then. I grew up in the 2000s. Times have changed so much even from that era.
@disturbedchicken The 70's and 80's were a magical time, 20 cent candy bars that were larger, 20 cent sodas in glass bottles, cheap mcdonalds and burger king with bigger burgers and fries, we didn't have to worry when walking to school, and far better music,.tv shows, and movies

@NativePortlander1970 I'm sure it was they say everything went to shit in 2000 after 9/11. I wasn't alive in the 70's but the fashion and music I like so much.
@disturbedchicken Even before 9/11 in 2001 things were getting bad, I blame Congress outlawing saturday morning cartoons in the early 90's for more "educational programming". Yes, Congress actually did that...[media=https://youtu.be/3cpUDtW1cV8]
