I don't know, but since the green disappeared from behind my ears I've always found Halloween a very fascinating time. Somehow the witch in me gets a hold and turns me into a delicious pumkin to eat for that very special fellow creature of the night. Or should that be an eating pumkin instead for indeed the same person?
It's something deeply ingrained in my soul. This time of year when the nights get longer and the trees become skeletal and everything is dying off in front of my eyes. It feels right and natural to clasp hands with the supernatural and celebrate both life and death around the fire.
@TryingtoLava I know the feeling. My mum died 13 years ago. I try to keep the fun in the day. I'm going to take a trip up the Ardennes. Just a weekend out in the woods 🤐
I use to really enjoy it, but the older I've gotten the kids don't come around anymore. We haven't had any trick or treaters in the last 15 years. Now it's just another day. 😥
Soaping windows, smashing pumpkins against screen doors, lighting hedges on fire, stealing candy from kids, you know, just the usual stuff that makes Halloween so special to me.
