It’s just another pagan holiday that Christianity tried to spin in order to make non Christians trust the new religion at the time. In fact even the pagan holiday it’s assumed to have been derived from has no relation to its current form as it was a Celtic harvest festival. And even the holiday Christians turned it into has no relation to its current iteration. It was meant to remember the dead kind of like the day of the dead in some Latin cultures.
