I Hate Halloween

A ridiculous holiday where parents get their children to take food from strangers. And not only that, but if you don't have anything to give the kids, you're looked down upon.

*all the sighs in the world*.

And then there are halloween parties. Why is it that people between the ages of 35 and 45 feel the need to pretend that halloween parties are at all fun, with those ridiculous "halloween games" and the stupidly named food? Not only that, but they force their children to go as well, resulting in bored kids, and a group of embarrassing adults eating the burnt brownies Janet made. 馃檮

And let's not even get into how massively weird it is for countries that are predominantly Christian to celebrate a Pagan holiday, because then we'd have to talk about the weirdness that is Christmas.

damn... Take breath. you don't HAVE to participate. Just turn out your lights and the treaters will pass you by. It is really an honoring of your loved ones that have past and a celebration of the changing seasons . It has been high jacked and turned into a big commercial windfall for the candy and costume business. But I follow the old Celtic and pagan traditions and it means a lot more to Me that way.. Kids don't understand the concept of "Go away".

Also, a holiday is not necessary for remembering loved ones, and seasons are made up things we use to farm more easily. Totally irrelevant to everyday city life.

I'm not annoyed with celtic/pagan traditions, because that's not what halloween is. That's what it's loosely based on, but not what it is. What it is, is a "commercial windfall for the [sweets] and costume business".
