I can have it out back, but the rules state that the frontages are considered part of the public way and drinking in public is illegal.
Nobody really cares though but it is frowned upon by a lot of the older or more tenured residents.
After my picnic table post I ended up talking to a young family that came out with their kids to grill.
I gave them my can of bug repellent.
