Fine Art Fetish Friday

These photographs, from a series called “Pissing Women”, are by the artist Sophy Rickett. They were taken around London in the 1990s, shortly after the Thatcher era. They explore ideas of femininity and masculinity, and the way in which women may feel it necessary to adopt masculine behaviors to succeed in the world of business and finance. Say, by wearing suits, as all the subjects do, or by marking their territory and doing it while standing up, or with the purpose of being seen.

Kinky, perhaps, but also interesting and subversive.

I enlarged the second picture to see the reflection better, also because I suspected it was a cross-dresser.
Jury still out.

@emmasfriend The position of the hands in both images (two symmetrically positioned hands with palms facing in and the back of the fingers facing out) makes me think these are women, not men.
