I recently discovered these paintings by Toulouse-Lautrec that show images of lesbian women in bed together. That was quite daring for its time, and I’m struck by how they focus on intimacy rather than eroticism, although the subtext is clear.

@YoMomma I believe it was clear from his titles and subjects. The short hair and boyish look was an indication that these weren’t just platonic female friends.
