Happy Friday 鈽猴笍
Sit on the porch a while with a coffee. Get some fresh air later on. 馃嵉

@Stereoguy It was more enjoyable pre COVID, when at least you had the option. The porch, a friend's backyard, or the coffee shop.

Yep, you have to make your own fun these days. Which is always reduced to a party of one.

@Stereoguy 鈽猴笍 That sounds lovely. You lift your spirits, and hers. As well as keeping the RV in working shape. Bonus you have the comforts of home with you. You can even pull off and enjoy the view, make tea and toast if you wanted.

Driving has been a sanity saver. Favorite music on, it's amazing what a little time just watching the scenery pass can do.

@Stereoguy And big picture windows next to the couch. Many times I wished I could just take in the vista rather than it disappear behind the next hill.
As I get older, having a washroom in tow is a better idea also.

That's exciting. Tampa is so nice. A doable trip close to home. With the weather getting nicer, it's perfect timing.

@Stereoguy Very nice. It is a moveable feast; you could even take guests after COVID is through.

One of the biggest benefits, avoiding restroom and public facility hotspots. That's always our worry now too.

@Stereoguy That's a wonderful way to get there. Such a destination to look forward to. No doubt you'll remember that trip for quite some time. Always wanted to go there, and enjoy the sunsets and stunning vistas along the Overseas Highway (U.S Highway 1) from Miami to Key West. 馃憣鈽猴笍

@Stereoguy That's stunning. What a bridge. So you cross 7 Mile before Key West? And what an incredible camp site, views dont come any better. I bet the sunset was awesome.
Your RV is tops!! Nice rig!馃憤鈽猴笍

The 7 Mile shot reminds me of some of the open stretches between Orlando to Tampa, where we'd have water on both sides and only 10-20 ft above the surface. The effect was really incredible for me for some reason.

@Stereoguy If any place could inspire literary genius, it's this. Beautiful inside and out, it has a tropical Caribbean flair to it. Long veranda, storm shutters, teak decking and awnings, and quintessential breezy palm.

No doubt he penned many of his manuscripts here. What history!

@Stereoguy Yes I imagine so. That was his small space to think. For some reason I didn't think he'd had kids, interesting.

I was interested to see what are probably some of his hunting trophies on the wall. I know he was a big game hunter all over the world.

@Stereoguy The very same, from his hunting trips. Wow.
I knew he'd been to war, I always assumed it was as a soldier from the way he spoke about battle, and dying. But possible that was as a younger man, before corresponding.

I think his war correspondence gave him much material, and probably refined his writing style.
Married 4 times I can believe. He was a free spirit to say the least, and loved his drink also.

Incredible. I knew there was a museum somewhere there, but was unaware it was his home!

@Stereoguy 馃槸 Quite the experience, no wonder his accounts had such depth.

This scene, meeting Hemmingway for the first time always comes to mind. A bewildered author in a time slip encounters his literary heroes. From Midnight in Paris:

2:41 Of war and death

Earnest on writing, and boxing.

@Stereoguy That's familiar actually. Somehow I'd thought it in New Orleans though.
Yeah, he was in hospital for Cirrhosis of the liver. His doctor ordered him to stop drinking, but friends snuck it in. There was a pile of liquor bottles under his hospital bed.

He was probably a big fly fisherman and angler down that way.
That his original rods are still there is amazing.

The cats on the grounds of the house are descendants of the original given him by a ships captain. And was the home in which he wrote To Have and Have Not, and the fictionalized passage in Farewell to Arms inspired by his wife's difficult labor.

@Stereoguy That would be unforgettable! What a great man. Good they put it to film. I must see it.

Me too. Alright, goodnight. Rest well. 鈽猴笍馃憤
