My dogs are never scared during fireworks…

I have a theory that dogs who behave this way were either traumatized from loud noises as puppies and not comforted or reassured that it’s just a noise. Or that it’s just an overall trust issue with how close a dog feels to their owners. We don’t react to it, so they treat it as every other sound they would warn us about and vigilantly bark at it.

One of our dogs is terrified of fly swatters though so we assume he was beaten as a puppy by the owners before they sold him.
