There was a farm not too far from here that had grass that color all winter long. Cows would fertilize it but I think it might have been a different kind of grass to live through the winter. The farm got sold about 3 years ago and the grass doesn’t stay green like that now. It was a small pleasure to drive by on my way to or from OKC and see that much bright green in the dead of winter.

@cherokeepatti The most of Ireland stays green like that, especially what is sought facing due to the very high rain fall

@antonioioio it gets below freezing here and the grass goes dormant, most people have Bermuda grass planted. I don’t know why that grass stayed such a brilliant green all winter. Maybe the cow manure that was on the pasture helped keep it warm.

@cherokeepatti I come from generations of dairy farmers in Ireland, my Grandfather used to rent land for for his cows, in the early 19 hundreds at one stage the family had 60 cows to be milked by hand and main diet for the cows was grass and his recipe for that was, free draining sought facing
