An Aunt of mine--many years ago--used to say that "the day after Christmas is the best shopping day of the year"...! I think this was based upon a set of naïve beliefs regarding returns:
1) returns are in good condition (usable as intended)
2) returns are of things desirable to you (even though they were not to others)
3) returns are turned around/restocked quickly enough so that they'll be available a) where and
b) when you want
4) post-return pricing will be better than pre-Christmas sales
5) you will be fine waiting to get your cherished gifts after the holiday.
Seems a tad optimistic. And the crowds were horrific, at that time.

@SomeMichGuy i don't know why i called it black friday. they used to have a name for it...but now it is post holiday sales or some stupid thing. but it scares me more than black friday. you have people angry about waiting to return things and people who are desperate to come buy the things that nobody got them
