Do you still celebrate someone’s birthday even if they’re no longer alive?

DragonFruit · 61-69, M
Not necessarily “celebrate”, but I remember them on their birthdays.
Cantsayno · 56-60, M
I have a margarita every year on my past wives birthday
Wol62 · 51-55, M

originnone · 61-69, M
@Cantsayno You rock, dude.
Yes we do.. not a party.. but remember the person
HannahSky · F
Not like a party, but always acknowledge, maybe do something special for the day.
HannahSky · F
@ImRileyTheDog you're very lucky
ImRileyTheDog · 22-25, F
@HannahSky I’m just young, haven’t experienced it yet

The people who have died sadden me but nothing like a parent or someone extremely close
HannahSky · F
@ImRileyTheDog definitely, you're young

we visit the gravesite of our son every year around his birthday.It is a 5 hour drive to g4t there.
originnone · 61-69, M
@hippyjoe1955 I don't think young people do that anymore.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@originnone All our children and grand children go with us. It is an outing that no one wants to miss. We stop at our late son's favorite DQ on the way and all have an ice cream in memory of him. Then we go explore some wild areas not far from the cemetery after we leave the grave side.

@hippyjoe1955 I go when I'm back in Indiana....probably because my parents did.
originnone · 61-69, M
I always think of them on their birthday...mom, dad, brother, aunt....
