@SchoolBelle it was meant as a question. My understanding is that Tulips are grown on an industrial scale in Holland. Possibly they are imported via Liverpool. More likely the connection of Tulips with Liverpool was with a late singer said to be from Liverpool

@Royrogers I think it highly unlikely that tulips were shipped in large numbers all the way around from the Dutch ports to the west coast of England, when there was a cheaper, safer, direct route to Esst Anglia or even London.
@SchoolBelle While not particularly relevant, Mount Vernon, Washington State may be the world capital of tulip growing. Settled by Dutch immigrants.
April will be the tulip festival there.
