Seriously though, sadly Canada has been hit far worse by wildfires this season than any previous one. Just about to watch a documentary about it on the YouTube Best Documentary channel:

Yes there are fires actively burning in the country of the United States however there have been worse wildfire seasons in the past and of course this season is nowhere near from being over. So only time will tell.
Not that it matters but I’ve had some experience with wildfires and had my place threatened and saw some of my favorite places to play on snow charred and changed for ever or at least for the rest of my life. Not to mention the fact that friends that lived less than 15-20 minutes away from me lost their homes several people were killed indirectly.
One person who was killed indirectly by that fire was 28yo Sam Armanino.
In an astronomically rare event a falling tree branch landed on him as 3 people were mtn biking and clearing dead trees and branches from a popular backcountry ski and snowboard playground right below a cabin they had (99 year lease) which was lost in addition to their main residences as well. Unfortunately that’s just part of living in the wilderness in the mountains surrounded by beautiful trees that are essentially fuel for forest fires 🔥

Every fire season has become a more stressful time of year.
I’m not even sure if I’ll ever return to Lahaina on the Hawaiian island of Maui because I don’t want to see the ways that it’s been changed. I’d rather remember the old Lahaina and the fun I’ve had there. Surfing on the edge of the harbor where so many people sheltered in their attempt to survive and so many people perished in their failure to escape the flames. 😔
