The US wants Europe to up their military spending. But would hate it if Europe ever became militarily independent.

They’d treat them like China.

So America drip feeds Europe “security” like a weed dealer.

Cant have them totally dependent but can’t have them thinking for themselves either….

Reality is that unless they went nuclear any "invasion" of Europe by Russia would see those forces decimated. The invasion of Ukraine has shown that Russian forces just aren't that scary. And that's with 14 years of right wing misrule.
