This seems scarily accurate

"What's happening with Ukraine now is that Europe is following America's lead in sustaining the war against Russia, but without committing to a full isolation of Russia because they don't want to become solely dependent on US energy replacing Russian energy either. Europe as a whole is also not particularly keen on escalating the fight beyond Russia's control, because although they have largely followed US strategy, they are acting more like dependent military colonies than committed allies."

i don't think "europe is following americas lead". the US media feeds us a biased take. when was the last time the WaPo or NYT interviewed the leaders of the UK, Germany, Poland, or France on this topic? Instead, we get constant "background stories" by unnamed white house staffers. This is lazy and misleading

The current US administration wants to push for the elimination of fossil fuels, not create new markets for it. It could all change if the "drill baby drill" crowd gets to office, as their primary source of funding is fossil fuel companies, and cyborg tech billionaires.

Putin invested a lot of money in purchasing politicians here, and even whole parties.
