Macron Loses Parliamentary Majority
Macron's party, is going to get 245 seats in Parliament, short of the majority he enjoyed for his first term in office.
Macron, was was recently elected to a second term, is going to have to rely on the center right Les Républicains, with their 64 seats to gain a majority.
This represents a slight shift to the right for France, mostly as a result of Macron's attempt to reverse a surge by Rassemblement national - RN (Le Pen). The latter, however defied the polls and gained 90 seats, which puts it in an unprecedented position, of being able to participate in committees, and receiving funds for political activities. The RN received 90 seats. For those who do not follow French politics, the RN is the fake public face French racists put on.
Mélenchon's extreme left party, received 142 seats, but it's unlikely that Macron will make a leftward move, given the national sentiment.
