Do you believe recycling is a legit industry or just a scam because it's seen to be profitable?

https://www.smh.com.au/national/nsw/council-s-trucks-have-mixed-recycling-with-rubbish-for-more-than-a-decade-20220727-p5b4xz.html

I put recycling in the normal rubbish bin if the recycling bin fills up. Likewise if my green waste bin (where food scraps are also meant to go now) fills up, flowover goes into the normal rubbish bin. I don't put any food scraps in the bins - all goes into the yard.
Throwing regular trash into recycling can contaminate the batch. Sure it's a for profit business but here it's included in the monthly bill. Not only do the city provide you with 2 recycle bins but since we use less trash, we requested a smaller trash can which you get a rebate for monthly.

@aboveaverageaveragejoe We have three bins - red lid for normal rubbish, yellow for recycling, green for garden waste (and now also food scraps). There's talk of a fourth bin (not sure what for). Green bin is collected weekly, the other two on every alternate week. i don't use the green bin much if at all.
