People still think climate change is a hoax?

Alright, the world has existed for millions of years and humans have lived on it for millennia also. But the drastic changes happening in the natural world around us is alarming.

How do these deniers not see it?

What d'yall think? Is the whole climate change debate a bogeyman unleashed for I don't know what reasons.

Or is it something real that we all are responsible for?

It’s embarrassing that we’re still having this argument.

Carbon dioxide traps heat. We know this and have known this with absolute certainty for nearly eighty years now.

Anyone arguing against this is akin to flat earthers and people who think we faked the moon landings.

You’re not being a healthy skeptic; you’re denying the evidence of a proven observable fact.

The people who deny these facts simply don’t understand the science of it.

I once argued with someone who thought that NASA was faking the existence of black holes. I presented him several mathematical equations that were used in determining the existence of black holes and asked him to point out where the variables went wrong. And he didn’t know where to start.

And that’s the problem. They don’t believe in the issue because they refuse to understand the issue. You can’t educate people who don’t want to learn.

What you're saying is true about CO2 trapping heat, but what you have not done is state how you think trapped CO2 is causing our dramatic climate change to occur. You just cannot maintain one side of the argument without addressing the other side; you have to tie both issues together if they in fact are related to each other, otherwise you do not have a valid case to debate.

@SandWitch they never fully answer thr question, they just make statements

Define "drastic changes"...🤔

average co2 concentration in atmosphere is about 300-400ppm (less than half of 1%), the same as it was in 1958 when it was first actually measured; any other claims are purely hyperbole with no scientific basis

there are several 100+ year old pictures of famous landmarks (Fort Denison for example) that disprove any claims of rising sea levels; It's ironic that the "experts" dispute photographic evidence in favor of computer simulations & "predictions"

natural disasters are no more frequent than they've ever been; all that's really changed is their impact of humans as population expands and how they're reported (news travels faster & further by internet than it did by horseback 200+ years ago...). The planet is literally scarred with evidence of volcanic eruptions, meteor impacts, etc. that are far worse than anything experienced by modern humans.

Carbon dioxide traps heat. We know this and have known this with absolute certainty for nearly eighty years now.

It also creates oxygen via photosynthesis, we've known that with absolute certainty a lot longer. We also know that vegetation grows better and is more efficient at higher co2 concentrations (up to 1000-1200pm, 3x the current amount); we also know that the opposite is true for lesser co2 (to the point of around 150ppm when photosynthesis ceases)

I think that @WizardofOz and @Patriot96need to read Nietzsche, they could learn something…

@SandWitch Erm, this is nothing new. Scientists have been explaining how trapped CO2 in our atmosphere causes climate change since the 80s. They called it the Greenhouse Effect back then.

You don’t need @QueenOfZaun to explain. The info is out freely available , and you know it.

Just since the 80's you say? Scientists and Geologists have actually been explaining how trapped CO2 in our atmosphere has changed the earth's climate for millions of years, none of which had anything to do with man's burning of fossil fuels although a contributing factor in the more broader spectrum.

It wasn't until the early 80's that this information was marketed to the general public as a direct result of global oil production reaching it's historical peak in 1975, followed by what was marketed as an oil shortage crisis during that same decade.

What I need QueenOfZaun to explain is both sides of her argument, not just one side like she has done. I've already stated this in my first post which was really the only point I made to her in that post. Go back and read it again.

And one last point I'd like to make directly to you. Don't ever tell me what I need someone to explain or not explain. I'll make that assessment myself without soliciting your two cents worth, thank you very much.

No, no one is triggered, it's just that you have never learned your place in life, that's all!

Unfortunately, you had to come here to have this brought to your attention.
