Doubts about climate change?

Here’s what got that seed of doubt sown. 30 years ago A bold plan was hatched Americas oil industry execs and a top PR guru. An $850,000 a day contract was at stake meaning it was in the oil industry’s best interests to create seeds of doubt about climate change.
A bit like the NRA telling supporters that guns don’t kill people.

Obviously the plan worked because climate changed doubters are everywhere today. Sadly actual climate change is wacking us in the face every hour of every day.

Climate has been changing and fluctuating since human first set foot on the planet. So what.

Global warming IS BS though.

@SW-User Wow. Amazing. Two photos at unknown times of day and tide levels in a single location PROVE there is no global warming. It doesn't take much to convince the gullible, does it?

@SW-User how very scientific 🙄

@SW-User Almost identical pictures, no sign of coastal erosion I'd say you've been had by a Nigerian Prince.
This deserves an answer though:

Yes it does, the temperature of the planet rises and falls cyclically.
So what.
Every time the temperature rises or falls to certain levels their are worldwide climate disasters (ice age, or drought), the people of the world should be working with these temperature fluctuations not ignoring them and allowing green house gases to raise the temperature uncontrollably.

@windinhishair back in the mid 1990's, a bunch of scientists got together and informed the Government that a certain Lighthouse on the East Coast of the USA would fall into the ocean within 10 years if steps were not taken to prevent it from happening. They then moved that Lighthouse 2900 feet inland to save it. That happened in 1999. Guess what, the original location is still 100 feet from the ocean as it was before the move. How do I know this? Well I can see that Lighthouse currently from my home office window.

@dakotaviper So what? This proves nothing about global climate change if a single prediction about coastal erosion in a single location over a short period of time didn't come true.

Justice Ginsberg had pancreatic cancer for many years. She was predicted to have no more than six months to a year to live, consistent with other people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Her longevity proves nothing about the prognosis for other pancreatic cancer cases.

@dakotaviper and scientifically that means absolutely nothing
@SW-User Sounds like, I'm not an environmental scientist but I do have common sense? Let's wait until climate change becomes irreversible and a total catastrophe happens and then plan ahead? 🤔 Sounds like a Genius plan.

@windinhishair I do remember a certain former Vice President of the USA with the last name of Gore inform everyone back during his campaign for President that NYC, Miami, Boston and other major Liberal Enclaves would be under water by 2020. The last time I checked, they're still above water.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@dakotaviper Interesting that you "remember" something Al Gore never said. But it makes a great right-wing misinformation story, doesn't it?

Even if Gore had said such a thing, he's not a climate scientist. I trust the scientists who study climate for a living, not a politician.
