Global warming [I Fear Global Warming]

This weekend it’s supposed to be the hottest temperatures I think ever for our area. Who says global warming is not a thing?

I've seen the results of climate change where I live. Spring and fall are but a blink of an eye the past two years, where summer and winter have been lasting longer with heat and snow.
On top of that, on more milder days, the wind is absurdly high. I can only imagine that it will continuously get worse and worse unless big production companies actually make a move to reduce emmissions.

@SW-User We have been having the crazy wind thing here too. Spring this year was near hurricane force winds with no rain. Most bizarre weather I have ever seen, and I am not a young person.
@SW-User The sad part is we may already be to late for some recovery. Those who read this and still deny that there is a problem although may not be poorly educated overall however are truly ignorant to the fact that this is a serious problem. I live in snow country and yet for 20 years have seen the flux in temperature scary as hell. When first moved her 85F was the hottest and only a few days. Two weeks ago it was 100+ and that hot past the Canadian border. Yet the winters are shorter yet more brutal in some ways. The west is burning, the southeast is having more hurricanes with more severity, UK and Scandinavia are hot in summer and two years ago the waters around Stockholm never froze over during the winter.. Its global, serious and will life as we know it now be here in 2300? IF you answer that by thinking, absolutely, not doubt then you are seriously ignorant to the scientific facts.

Although she is young and still learning I commend Greta Thunberg for her tenacity and dedication.

I mean hot days happen (weather is not climate), but if everyone on earth is having their hottest temperatures ever, and every year that happens again, it's uh, kind of telling.

Also just look at Greenland. JESUS.

They have only been recording temps for about 170 years, so nice try on that one, on an earth which has been around a few billion years.

An earth which has had huge swings in temps over billions of years, major floods and ice ages with no humans or machines around.

An earth which has a lifespan which dwarfs any individuals time on earth. An earth with an incredible ability to adapt to any situation presented to it.

Global climate change is real and will continue to get worse until people are ready to do something about it. The past 7 years are the warmest on record globally. That record will be broken in the next 7.

Not me. Last year and this year, we have had record highs in this area.

@TheSentinel The drought is so bad here that wells have been drying up, and this has only been going on for the past few years. Still, I know a lot of people who say it *can't* be global warming.
@SW-User Those who are denying climate change are just going through life with their eyes and mind closed. There is just too much evidence of this happening.
The actual debate should be whether these changes are caused by man, or naturally occurring cycles of the earth. There are compelling arguments from both positions.
SW-User
@TheSentinel Yeah, I am not sure what to think either re. the cause of it.

We are watching it happen, it won't stop no matter what we do but we can have an effect on if it gets even worse than what we know for sure we are in for.

We had days of record cold here also.
It will average out somewhere

It is. It is not anthropomorphic.

It was crazy hot, wasn’t it!? Did you get through it ok? Now we just have to get through all the smoke….
@Lumberjack70 The smoke from the wildfires are all through Minnesota. One morning I literally thought the house was on fire the smell of smoke was so strong ...
MasterLee · 56-60, M
@Lumberjack70 the cold snap
HurtMe · 51-55, M
There has been years much hotter than this one. I think some fear monger might have your ear if you give it any credence.
